This Black History Month, history was certainly made! We had a month filled with new wins, accomplishments, and achievements. As we all know, when one of us wins, it’s a win for us all. Below we’ve highlighted some of February 2023’s most memorable moments. Shall we recap? WE SHALL!

1. Beyoncé Announces Renaissance World Tour on February 1st

Up first Queen Bey kicked off the 1st of the month with the announcement of her Renaissance World Tour. Sending all of her fans into a frenzy, Beyonce dropped her tour date list on February 1st and for days some of the Beyhive felt they couldn’t think straight until they knew their tickets were secured. The memes, the tweets, and the predictions kept so many loyal fans on the edge of their seats filled with anticipation. What a grand way to bring in Black History Month. Some tour dates have already gotten sold out. Time is ticking have you purchased your Club Renaissance ticket yet?

2. Beyoncé Becomes most awarded artist in Grammys history

Secondly, speaking of Queen Bey, Beyonce made history this month once again. During this year’s 65th annual Grammy Awards, it was announced that— she officially became the most-awarded artist in Grammy History! Watch her touching and heartfelt acceptance speech below.

3. viola davis officially earns egot status

Making history thee Viola Davis earned EGOT status, making her the third Black woman in history to have achieved this great accomplishment. EGOT is an acronym for someone who has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award. She earned a Grammy this month in the category Best Audiobook, Narration, and Storytelling for her memoir, ‘Finding Me’. A great win during Black History Month!

While this list only includes a few achievements performed by those in the entertainment industry. This February black people in all ranks showed up and showed out to celebrate yet another successful Black History Month. While February has come to an end, Black History is an ongoing celebration.
