Dad shoes, orthopedic sneakers, chunky dad sneakers.. those are just some of the names people are using to describe this new shoe trend. While there are many mixed views on the sneakers, some celebrities and socialites can’t get enough. For those that aren’t really capable of coughing up $$$ for this latest trend, here are a few that are in a reasonable price range.
1. PUMA Thunder Desert Sneakers
The sneakers are now sold out on the actual puma website. But you can find them online on various other sites such as Urban Outfitters, ASOS and Zappos. Retail price $120 USD.
2. ADIDAS Falcon Sneakers
These sneakers recently came out and with the help of Kylie Jenner, they’ve been selling pretty quickly. As of now, many of the colorways are sold out on the Adidas website. The easy orange and light granite combo drop September 27th at 3 am. For those who are interested, set your alarm clocks! The Falcons retail for $100 USD.
3. Nike M2K Tekno Sneaker
My personal favorite! These sneakers remind me of the early 2000s and late 90s. The Nike M2k Tekno come in men, women and youth sizes. There are also a few different colorways to choose from. At the moment Foot Locker, Six 02 and Urban Outfitters have many sizes in stock online. If the M2K Tekno’s are your cup of tea, check out the sites listed. These sneakers retail for $100 USD.
4. ASH Addict
Once ASH realized the Dad sneaker trend was on the rise they decided to make their version of Balenciaga’s Triple S sneaker. Their version is extremely similar, the only difference is that it’s about three hundred dollars less than the original. If you’re okay with sporting a replica, ASH is selling these bad boys for $280 USD.
Chunky Dad Sneakers have most certainly made a comeback. If this trend continues, more and more brands will begin to produce their own versions. We’ll all just have to wait and see.
