Daniel Day better known as Dapper Dan can now add “Mentor” on to his list of achievements. The Harlem born tailor and boutique owner is best known for his ability to remix high-end luxury pieces into fresh new styles.
During the early 1980’s & 1990’s Dan’s styles were seen on a variety of well-known hip-hop artists, athletes and overall celebrities. His clientele included artist such as LL Cool J, Salt-N-Pepa, Big Daddy Kane, and Mike Tyson just to name a few. In addition, he also customized interior. Dan is said to have paved the way for the saying “Hip-Hop Meets High Fashion.”
This September Dan is heading to New York Fashion Week to help mentor the VFiles runway show. He, as well as Khloe Kardashian, Emma Grede, and Jimmy Moffat will all be in attendance serving as mentors.. The show is scheduled to take place Wednesday September 6, 2017.
