In an interview with Montreality, rapper French Montana talked about a few of the things he’d like to carry out in the near future. He mentioned that he currently has a track with A$AP Rocky on the way and he’s hoping to get in the studio with Max B once he’s released.
“Me and Rocky got a project. We’re supposed to be coming out with it real soon.” He then went on to talk about Max B stating,”But I would love to see what that energy is like when Max B comes home. Me and him get back in the studio and do a Coke Wave mixtape. I feel like we’d definitely have our shot to drop a real Coke Wave album. I feel like he’s in there loading up. I’m in the best shape of my life, he’s in the best shape of his life and that energy in there is going to be impeccable.”
He also shared something that none of us had ever known before. Back in 2013 French debuted his album “Excuse My French.” J. Cole almost made the cut as executive producer for the album but the two men were both busy, so the timing didn’t workout.
“He almost executive produced my first album [Excuse My French] after I played him the music,” Montana said. “I think Cole is one of the dopest artists that came out. I just remember when we were in the Club Paradise Tour with Drake and I was working on my first album, and we had “Pop That” and everything. I was playing him my album and he just called me one day like, “Yo French, I would love to help you with the album. Let me executive produce it.”
Hopefully the two men will find sometime in the new year to collab. I don’t know about you guys but I’d love to hear a French and Cole track. Lets see if this interview sparks a few ideas.
