The Makeup Museum will be One of a Kind
New York City makeup lovers rejoice! A museum dedicated to makeup and its history is coming to NYC this spring. Many people don’t know this, but makeup has a ten thousand-year history. The Makeup Museum (MM) plans to highlight everything there is to know about beauty and makeup. One major exhibition visitors can expect, showcases makeup looks and trends from the 1950s. “Pink Jungle: 1950s Makeup in America” is going to be one of the very first exhibits in the museum. The museum directors feel this exhibit is extremely important because it’ll give visitors an in-depth look at the beginning of modern makeup and cosmetics in the 1950s. “Pink Jungle” will also feature makeup trends worn by iconic women such as Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. Also, because of the museum’s partnership with Nordstrom, those visiting will be able to purchase exclusive MM makeup items from the gift shop on the way out or through the Makeup Museum app. Visitors can also expect to interact with certain parts and sections of the museum as you’ll definitely be encouraged to do so (think of it as the Museum of Ice Cream).
And now for all the good deets…
Located at 94 Gansevoort St, the Makeup Museum is set to open its doors this spring on May 1, 2020. Tickets go on sale on March 1, 2020, and will cost anywhere between $25-$40.
